One of my wife’s and my favorite summer traditions in Philly is packing up a blanket, a cheese plate, grabbing a bottle of wine, and hopping on our bikes for an evening at Movies at the Eakins Oval by the Art Museum. It’s a great way to break up the week without breaking the bank—especially since the movies are completely free. It’s low-key, romantic, and relaxing—an easy excuse to get out of the house and enjoy the city in a different way.
Free movie showings are already underway at parks across the city. It’s a true family affair, with a lineup that includes everything from nostalgic ’90s comedies to Disney classics, superhero blockbusters, and a few fun reboots sprinkled in. Whether you’re bringing the kids, a date, or just a lawn chair and some snacks, there’s something for everyone.
Here’s the full rundown of free movie nights happening all over Philly this summer—organized by location so you can plan your nights accordingly.
