Brought to you by the same folks who own Hawthornes, Sonny's Cocktail Joint and WineDive, Grace and Proper is a vintage, Euro style corner bar where patrons can come in and enjoy Portuguese inspired food, great cocktails and catch a Footie on the tube.
The space is roughly 700 square feet and seats about 40 people with standing room around the bar. Once the warmer weather hits, patrons will be welcome to sit outside and enjoy the delicious food and libations.
Grace and Proper features an eclectic wine list with from Portugal, Spain, Italy, France and California. Food wise, small plates are the name of the game. They offer a variety of meat and cheese along with signature sandwiches. We at the South Philly Team tried the Bifana sandwich which is a savory, garlicky, pork loin sandwich served on fresh Portuguese pao de avo bico. The pork is slow roasted in a sauce of white wine, garlic and spiced until perfectly tender. Safe to say, we'll be stopping by again for the Bifana and some Portuguese wine.
